KENNEBEC TECHNOLOGIES -- Beyond Precision Machining

Kennebec Receives Recognition for Excellence and Adds New Capabilities

June 2014

Kennebec Recognized by Boeing and ITT Aerospace

Boeing and ITT Aerospace presented Kennebec Technologies with an award for “extraordinary support” of the KC-46 Pegasus Tanker program. The KC-46, a fully modernized in-flight aerial tanker, features new technologies that allow it to undertake a variety of missions beyond refueling, such as cargo transport and MEDEVAC.

Kennebec Technologies provided sophisticated engineering and prototype machining services on the aircraft’s fuel-transfer system while exceeding customer expectations for partnering, quality, and delivery.

Kennebec’s VP of Sales and Marketing, Bart Haley, accepted the award in Valencia, California. Haley remarked, “It is an honor for all of us at Kennebec Technologies to be part of the team that contributed to the successful completion of the first test aircraft.” The award was presented in December 2013.

On-Floor CMMs Improve Quality and Speed Delivery

Over the past year, Kennebec has created a number of "super cells" with integrated CMMs running Prolink data collection software. This software provides machinists real-time feedback on product conformance, process capability and trending thus enabling proactive process adjustments in the cell, which prevent defects or production delays.  The measurement data and analysis can easily be sent to customers in several formats, which has eliminated the need for on-site source inspections with some customers helping to LEAN out the supply chain timetable.
